Join Us This Weekend: Honoring Capt. Gordon Cleland at the 2026 Memorial Crappie Tournament

The Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation (ISPHF) invites anglers and community members to join the Capt. Gordon Cleland Memorial Crappie Tournament on September 13, 2026, at Lake Shelbyville – Bo Woods Ramp.
This annual event honors the memory and legacy of Capt. Gordon Cleland while bringing together anglers, first responders, families, and supporters for a meaningful day on the water.

Date: September 13, 2026
Location: Lake Shelbyville – Bo Woods Ramp
Entry Fee: $80 per team
Optional Pots: $20 Big Fish | $10 Junk Fish
Registration: 5:30–6:30 a.m.
Lines In: 7:00 a.m.
Lines Out: 2:00 p.m.
Weigh-In: 2:30 p.m. at Sullivan VFW
Weigh-In: 7 live crappie fish
Extras: Raffles and a fish fry following weigh-in
Remembering Capt. Gordon Cleland
The Capt. Gordon Cleland Memorial Crappie Tournament is about more than a day of fishing. It is an opportunity to gather in remembrance of Capt. Cleland and recognize the service and sacrifice of those who have dedicated their lives to protecting Illinois communities.
Each year, this tournament gives friends, families, fellow first responders, and community members a chance to honor that legacy together.
Supporting a Mission of Remembrance
The Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation works to preserve, educate, inspire, and honor. From maintaining the Illinois State Police Museum and Memorial Park to supporting educational outreach and preserving ISP history, the Foundation works to ensure the stories and sacrifices of Illinois State Police personnel are remembered for generations to come.
