The Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5K Brings Community Together to Honor and Remember
The Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation is proud to share the Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5K, a meaningful event that brings together community members, families, and supporters to honor the life and legacy of Trooper Corey Thompsen. Now in its second year, this event continues to bring people together through fitness, remembrance, and community support.
What Is the Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5K
The Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5K is a community-focused run and walk that serves as both a tribute and a fundraiser. Participants of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to join, whether running competitively or walking in remembrance.
In addition to the race itself, the event creates a welcoming, family-friendly environment with activities designed to bring the community together while reflecting on the impact of Trooper Thompsen’s service.
Event Details
The Trooper Thompsen Memorial 5K will take place on Saturday, June 13 at Woodard Family Park in St. Joseph, Illinois.
The event schedule includes:
3:30 PM: Community activities including touch-a-truck, face painting, raffles, silent auction, and food trucks
4:30 PM: Kids’ Run
5:00 PM: 5K Run/Walk
Early registration is available for $30 and includes a finisher medal and event t-shirt. Packet pickup will be held at the pavilion on Friday, June 12 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on race day from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
Age group awards will be presented following the race.
