2026 marks 100 years of Route 66, and the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation is commemorating the milestone with a new limited-edition T-shirt celebrating a century of patrolling the Mother Road.
Featuring the theme “Patrolling Route 66: 100 Years,” the new design brings together two important pieces of Illinois history: the iconic highway and the generations of Illinois State Police personnel who have served along it.
About the Apparel
This year’s Route 66 Centennial T-shirt is available in two commemorative designs, each celebrating 100 years of patrolling the Mother Road.
One design features Illinois State Police patrol cars from different eras, highlighting the evolution of vehicles used throughout ISP history.
The second features a motorcycle patrol design, offering another tribute to the generations of Illinois State Police personnel who have served along Route 66.

Celebrating Route 66 in Springfield

Here in Springfield, the 25th Annual International Route 66 Mother Road Festival will take over historic downtown September 25-27, 2026, bringing classic cars, live entertainment, food, and plenty of Mother Road nostalgia to the capital city. The event is free for spectators.
